LUMN about to take off 2020 Q4 - 2021 Q1

2020.11.27 15:54 xo_lil_uzi_squirts LUMN about to take off 2020 Q4 - 2021 Q1

I am buying HEAVY into $LUMN.
12/18 12.5c, 21/1/22 10c
Lumen Technologies is a fiber optic cable company that sells to businesses and governments. They have an 11.82B market cap, 11M volume, 9.11 P/E ratio, 0.9 P/B ratio, and 9.3 div yield. They have consistently been profitable this year and beat expectations in the past three earnings reports. Lumen will be playing a huge role in developing internet infrastructure, as well as data infrastructure, across the world. Previously, Lumen was selling fiber optic cables and data transportation to corporations, however, Morningstar says that since 2017 Lumen has begun building their own network and shifting business models.
Morningstar also gives $LUMN a fair value estimate of $18. That is 172.1% higher than it is currently valued at ($10.46). But big tendies are projected by Simply Wall Street and Stocknews.com, who give $LUMN a fair value of $34.17 and $40.67 respectively.
As 5G gets developed worldwide, I believe there is a huge growth potential for $LUMN as it builds its own network, on top of the 450,000 miles of fiber optic cable that it already has.
Also Michael Burry bought 800,000 shares.

2020.11.26 14:01 autotldr BBC News - Covid-19: England's regional tiers being announced

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 81%. (I'm a bot)
Large parts of the Midlands, North East and North West, including Manchester, as well as Kent, will face the harshest restrictions in tier three.
A majority of places are in the second-highest level - tier two - including London, and Liverpool city region, previously in the highest tier.
Around 21 local authority areas will be in the highest level - tier three - including Birmingham, Leeds, Sheffield, Tees Valley Combined Authority and North East Combined Authority.
The system will be regularly reviewed and an area's tier level may change before Christmas - the first review is scheduled for 16 December.
Decisions on tiers are based on public health recommendations informed by a series of public health data, including Covid-19 cases among the over-60s, positivity rates, pressure on the NHS and how quickly cases are rising or falling.
Areas placed in tier three will be eligible for rapid or "Lateral flow" tests - which give results in about 20 minutes without the need for a lab - to help bring down infections and reduce restrictions.

2020.11.24 12:31 Throwaway_90102030 Council demanding money paid in 12 months even though its not possible for me to do so. Threatening court orders etc

Hi. Looking for help regarding council charges.
My old council are seeking discretionary housing payments back, from a few years ago.
This is speculative, but it came right after I put in a complaint about how they handled my homeless situation. Ignoring phone calls, homophobic abuse, no safe guarding, and they made no attempt to recover the money until last September. Which they've still not actually offered any help with properly. Just letters and threats.
Essentially, I owe £1500 of housing benefit they had to pay, because I was working, had a mental breakdown and needed support. Their own staff, multiple, claim this is odd because they have never done this before, but that probably isn't relevant.
Since last year, they asked what I could afford. I said £20 a month, they said no. We'll apply to the benefit centre. I heard nothing for a solid 5 months. They came back, and asked what I could afford again, I said £20, they took a payment there and then, then said they'll send out a financial form. They didn't for a month.
Then they did, I filled it out wrong because I have learning disabilities, and no support. They took about 3 weeks to respond to this.
Sent another, I filled it out. They've requested bank statements which I've denied because I know they don't handle data correctly, and I know they have a strong "yes, you're disabled and autistic, and yes you have eating disorders so your food costs more, and your travel costs more because of routine, but we don't care, stop driving and eating"
I know this from a past issue with them because they underpaid me housing benefit so I had to go through this in the past.
I've written a strong ish email about how they've offered no alternative. The benefit centre refuses their payment plan, they've offered no support from debt advice or any of their services (their website says they should)
Their recent email is "if this isnt paid in full or within 12 months, we'll take you to court and have a court order to freeze your bank account and take all your belongings owing to the debt"
This has been centre to the councils business debt recovery, not an actual benefit section. Which seems really odd. And I doubt the court would do what they're threatening.
They also sent quite intimidating letters " if you don't pay this, vulnerable adults will suffer because we can't pay them " I am a vulnerable adult. I have a long list of diagnosis and they literally had me registered with a support worker when I lived there. Who also said its wrong theyre chasing this debt.
What options do I have here? Surely they can't expect someone on a very limited income to not eat so I can pay them? Theyve offered absolutely no alternative and been extremely slow with helping, and I know I dont actually have to give them a bank statement, citizens advice made that clear to me.
I'm based in the East Midlands.

2020.11.24 12:04 autotldr Weekly coronavirus deaths hit highest level in six months for England and Wales

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 60%. (I'm a bot)
Weekly coronavirus deaths have continued to rise and have now reached levels not seen since May, according to the Office for National Statistics.
New figures show there were 2,466 deaths involving coronavirus registered in the week ending November 13 in England and Wales.
Experts have warned the restrictions which started on November 5 won't be reflected in the deaths data for several weeks as the people dying now likely caught the virus several weeks ago.
ONS' stats show North-west England continues to be the worst-affected area for coronavirus deaths with 615 deaths registered in week 46 - the highest number for the region since the week ending May 15.
In Yorkshire and the Humber, 450 Covid-19 deaths were registered in the week to November 13: again, the highest for the region since the week to May 15.
Some 284 Covid-19 deaths were registered in the West Midlands - the highest since the week to May 22 - while 245 were registered in the East Midlands: the highest since the week to May 15.

2020.11.18 23:42 Jason-In-Canterbury What's in the News? (Culture Post)

This post was written over the span of one week, as I kept up to date and summarized all the news happening in the United Kingdom. Please keep in mind that England is also on lockdown, so a lot of these news stories related to the pandemic.
Thursday, November 12th, 2020: Today's news is about COVID-19. Business Secretary Alok Sharma gave a statement at the coronavirus press conference. In this statement, Sharma gave updates on new numbers, including new case averages, numbers of patients, and COVID-19 deaths. Sharma gives the people of the United Kingdom a reminder "as to why we are taking the action we are, to stop the spread of this virus and ultimately save lives" (Government UK). He also regrets to inform us that "1,219 patients are now in mechanical ventilation beds, compared to 1,142 a week ago. And, sadly, another 595 deaths within 28 days of a positive test were reported yesterday."
Friday, November 13th, 2020: Today's news is about football (to Americans, soccer). England Women’s friendly against Norway has been cancelled after the Norwegian Football Federation confirmed that it would be unable to travel due to COVID-19 considerations in their country. England head coach Phil Neville spoke out about this, saying “While I am disappointed for our fans and players, I fully respect Norway’s decision not to travel. These are still challenging times where health and safety for all is the most important thing to consider" (The Athletic). In other news of COVID and soccer, Republic of Ireland midfielder Alan Browne has tested positive for COVID-19 following Thursday night’s 3-0 friendly defeat by England. Browne’s positive COVID-19 test result was confirmed by The FAI on Friday morning. He played the full 90 minutes at Wembley but has been isolated from the rest of his team-mates ahead of Sunday’s Nations League fixture against Wales in Cardiff.
Saturday, November 14th, 2020: Today's news is about COVID-19 protests. This was very interesting to hear about coming from England, about how people in other countries are also trying to protest the pandemic. I thought it was only Americans that were stupid! This occurred at the Wolverhampton's Civic Center, for a protest organized by the group Midlands Freedom Education Rally. The 150 participants refused to disperse when requested to by security forces, who stated that the protest was in breach of the current coronavirus disease (COVID-19)-related restrictions on social gatherings. It has been advised of GardaWorld that "those in Wolverhampton are advised to monitor the situation, anticipate transportation disruptions, and adhere to all instructions issued by local authorities."
Sunday, November 15th, 2020: In today's news, England took an unfortunate 2-0 loss between Belgium for the UEFA Nations League. According to an ESPN report, "England needed a win to put themselves back in the frame for a place in the Nations League finals, but Gareth Southgate's side found themselves chasing the game after Tielemans put the hosts in front after 10 minutes." England seemed to have been more of a threat in the second half, but couldn't convert either of a pair of free kicks just outside the area and Harry Kane saw a good chance from 15 yards away save by Belgium keeper Thibaut Courtois. Kane made a statement post-game, saying that "We were dominant. We were unlucky to concede the two goals," he said. "A deflection and I don't think the second was a free kick. A lot of positives to take."
Monday, November 16th, 2020: For today's news, we take a look at road charges. According to The Times UK, Drivers would support a national road-charging system providing that it was not simply used as a “cash cow” by the Treasury, ministers have been told. Research shows broad backing among drivers for a “pay per mile” road-pricing system, with many insisting that it would be fairer than the present fuel duty. A study by the RAC found that 44 per cent of drivers supported the move as an alternative to the levy on petrol and diesel, almost twice as many as opposed it. The UK’s fuel taxes are the highest in Europe.
Tuesday, November 17th, 2020: Today's news is a new COVID-19 brief for the UK. According to Update News, "ONS data shows England and Wales experienced highest number of Covid-related deaths since mid-May, easyJet posts its first loss in 25 years and the WHO welcomes "encouraging" vaccine news. A total of 65,546 deaths have so far been registered where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, according to the latest reports from the UK's statistics agencies. This includes 59,549 deaths in England and Wales up to 6 November (and registered up to 14 November), which were confirmed by the ONS on Tuesday."
Wednesday, November 18th, 2020: Today's news gives an update to Brexit- on Daily Briefing, they say that "Brexit trade deal ‘days away’ as hurdles fall." "An agreement between the UK and EU about post-Brexit trade could be “just days away,” says The Daily Telegraph, after the latest talks in Brussels. Hopes have risen after the Irish prime minister said “landing zones” for an agreement are now in sight. France is believed to have accepted that its fishing rights in UK waters will be reduced after the transition period ends on 31 December, removing one of the most significant obstacles."

2020.11.17 18:48 Lexdiss Statistics/ data on older age related issues?

Hi, I’m looking for data by county on older age related issues such as, how many in care homes, on benefits, are lonely, have poor housing. This is the kind of data I’m looking for to be able to write about the >65 market across some of the midland counties. I’ve looked at the ONS but they don’t seem to really have much there. Age UK have a great factsheet containing al these kind of statistics but unfortunately are t broken down by county. Was wondering if anyone could help point in the right direction?

2020.11.17 10:08 UnknownTrainor [Nicholls - 17th - 1st] Connor goes doorknocking in Ballarat

Connor and his team, following COVID-19 restrictions, decide to go door knocking to engage with the community and get voter turnout up.
Connor is wearing “Vote 1 SDP face mask” and arrives at a suburban family home in Alfredton, an area of Ballarat seeing increased development. He walks up and knocks on the door. Maintaining social distancing requirements. A man answers Man: “Hi.” Connor: “Hello! My name is Connor and I’m the local candidate for the SDP.” Man: “Oh I see. Look, while I have voted for the SDP in the Senate, the candidate they run in Nicholls seems always to be just on the ballot in name, so what’s different this time?”
Connor: “Well, I understand the frustration. Many of the past candidates we have run seem to care little about the local area, however, I can assure you that this time around it is completely different. You’ll notice that I have lived in Ballarat my entire life, unlike the other candidates from the CLP and Liberals who don’t even live in Nicholls, and have solely returned to run on behalf of their parties. We also have a strong policy program this time around for Nicholls, involving roads, rails and other projects.”
Man: “Well, why should I believe you?”
Connor: “I believe I am a trustworthy person, and I seek to entirely represent Nicholls and the issues that affect you. I’ve lived here my entire life, and you may know that I’m a local business owner too, so I absolutely strive to support the livelihoods of my constituents.”
Man: “but I’m not a local business owner, I rent my home, and I’m a permanent but my conditions aren’t great and I’m scared to strike now after the events in Fremantle where the military was involved. I have a family that I need to return to everynight.”
Connor: “The Fremantle incident was an horrendous action made by the Liberal government, which the previous member callously supported. Under the SDP workers will be allowed to strike, your rights will be ensured and protected, the union busting plans of the Libs won’t be allowed to happen, we’ll make sure renters feel secure in their homes.”
Man: “Why shouldn’t I vote for the CLP though, they care about regional Australians.”
Connor: “The CLP is a valued member of our coalition, and is a strong and respected party. However, the candidate for the CLP, is not a local resident, and though may have grown up here, they don’t get the local issues that we currently face here. I understand the SDP doesn’t have the best record when it comes to regional and rural Australia, however I intend to change that and strongly represent all the peoples of Nicholls. As a local resident I have the vested interest to better my own community, and help my family and yours, as well as anyone else's in Nicholls.
Man: “Living in Alfredton, traffic has increased heaps and my commute to my Mechanics shop in Daylesford where I work, traverses along a pretty dangerous stretch of road.”
Connor: “You’ll be glad to know then that the SDP has committed to safety works along the Midland Highway, which will make your drive safer everyday. We also want to improve public transport to take cars off the road, as well as reducing air and noise pollution. The Central Highlands is a beautiful region and I’d hate to see huge freeways cutting across the forests and hills, which is why we’re focusing more on safety improvements to existing roads and public transport. We also want to improve phone coverage between Daylesford and Ballarat, where there is currently a huge blackspot, so that if accidents do occur emergency services can be reached.”
Man: “Well thank you for your time, I’ll consider what you’ve said and I may give your office a call later in the week. I have to get back to the kids now, see you.”
Connor: “Talk later! Hope you’ll put me first this Saturday.”
Connor moved to the next house, where he was greeted by a woman.
Woman: “Hey, was it your letter that came in the mail the other day?”
Connor: “Haha, yes it was. I am the local candidate for Nicholls as I’m sure you read in the letter.”
Woman: “Well I’ve been a lifelong Liberals supporter, for their strong economic management and stability, especially in the early 2000’s, however I’ve become dissatisfied with their constant infighting, and especially their military action in Fremantle, as well as arresting the opposition leader, how bad is that…”
Connor: “Well it is less than ideal, and the whole Fremantle situation was managed poorly by Griffo, and I think it was the wrong action to take when he involved the military. If the workers had just been listened to, I’m sure the situation would not have escalated and we could have avoided this whole mess. You’ll also notice that while we aren’t the Liberals, we too offer strong economic management, and widespread benefits to the general population, in the form of tax cuts for people much like yourself, putting more money in your pocket.”
Woman: “Though… you have some pretty pricey infrastructure projects lined up and well, how are we meant to even afford those?”
Connor: “We will be sadly taking on more debt to finance these projects, however, it is an important aspect of our coronavirus recovery plan and will stop the chances of recession occurring while employing thousands of people across Nicholls. Though we will not increase taxes on working Australians, and we have plans in place to tax the sale of private data, for example like Facebook selling off photos of your kids, which will stop them from doing so.”
Woman: “Wait Facebook sells off your photos to random foreign companies? And the Liberals were letting this happen?”
Connor: “Well I guess they were, however I can assure you that our other policies will benefit you a lot more, such as reducing traffic, funding hospitals and schools, investing in public transport and getting tourism to return to regional Victoria.”
Woman: “Tourism has been a huge issue for me, my cafe I run in Sturt Street has been seeing a huge decrease in customers, usually we get a lot of daytrippers and tourists, especially those that come to see the historic buildings and Sovereign Hill. It would be great to encourage people to get back up and see the sights.”
Connor: “Exactly, and as a small business owner myself, I sympathise with your predicament.”
Woman: “Well I have to get back to making dinner or it’ll burn haha”
Connor: “See you! Hope you’ll consider me as your first choice this Saturday.’
Woman: “Will do”
Connor then continued on to the next house while other team members visited houses throughout Ballarat, Bendigo, Horsham, Shepparton and Sale, as Connor seeks to reduce travelling due to the possibility of spreading coronavirus.

Your honor , This is improper opinion because it doesn’t meet two criteria stated in midlands rules of evidence

702 b) as Witness used no facts or data to come to this conclusion. One symptom backed by no concrete report / scientific evidence is not sufficient to conclude death by allergy .

2020.11.05 16:13 Ok_Satisfaction_6401 Psychiatry training deaneries

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the East Midlands deanery for Core Psychiatry training? I'm settled in the area however Messly's survey data shows East Mids is by far and away the worst for training.
If anybody had any particular recommendations for any other deaneries then they would be much appreciated.

2020.11.05 08:46 InteractiveTutorial Evidence that unmaxed characters can realistically use defense rings over HP rings

Evidence that unmaxed characters can realistically use defense rings over HP rings
Hello! I recently posted a picture of some loot I got on a throwaway necro. Somebody asked why I am using a superior defense ring instead of the para HP in slot 5.
https://preview.redd.it/l3t7h0hr4dx51.png?width=451&format=png&auto=webp&s=248639dba6bc50e4be20761a495010be4922bf5b
Normally I just answer with "def rings are good for groups", but I am getting a bit frustrated not knowing for sure. So, I have done some calculations and determined which is the best!
https://preview.redd.it/gb21osj7cdx51.png?width=1321&format=png&auto=webp&s=38e22663fab36ec06be84207adb0ada948f62dc6
Keep in mind that this graph is specifically for the necromancer in the picture above. Also, the number of shots to kill is a logarithmic scale, which makes it easier to see both big and small values. The lowest number of shots in this graph is 5 and the green line ends at 7.
The superior def is... superior until enemies do 46 damage. It is then on par with para HP until 56 damage. Ogre Warriors in the Highlands deal 48 damage. The Blue Flaming Skulls at the Skull Shrine deal 60 damage. Hellhounds in Manor deal 65 damage.
Superior defense is a good choice up to Highlands and Highlands dungeons. For high level dungeons, para HP is much better. Para HP will help me survive 8 shots at 100 Damage as opposed to 7 shots with sup defense.
What about UBDef?
https://preview.redd.it/jfq1s1tgedx51.png?width=1318&format=png&auto=webp&s=24035004cfadf84504e3714bfbbdebd6961a49e1
Compared to a para HP, UBDef is better until 72 damage and on par until 79 damage. You can survive 22 50 damage shots with UBDef as opposed to 19 with para HP. I have to admit this isn't as great as I expected.
Finally, I wanted to answer another burning question. Should I use Exa HP or Exa Def on a maxed character?
https://preview.redd.it/hxtxck0ihdx51.png?width=1315&format=png&auto=webp&s=5228ed1488c803b48bd11203f29542b3fca6bc34
This data is for a necromancer with tops (Lifedrinker give +90HP). It tells quite a different story from the previous scenarios, but shows that Exa Def is not a terrible choice as some people have suggested.
Where Exa Def comes out on top is in groups of low damaging enemies. It takes 33 65 damage shots (the damage done by the scary hounds in Manor) to kill the necro with Exa HP, but with Exa Def it takes 40 shots!
tl; dr:
In many cases, a defense ring will provide more survivability than an HP ring. For new players, spending a lot of time in the midlands, you will want to equip a superior or paramount defense ring. In places with high damage shots (Oryx, endgame dungeons) HP rings are the better choice.

2020.10.31 15:31 Nutrition_UoG 🌿 Hello Leicester! would anyone here like to take part in a nutrition research study from University of Glasgow, on seaweed consumption and knowledge in the UK??

Hi everyone,
My name is Mayra, I am a 4th year nutrition student at University of Glasgow. I wanted to share with you my research survey, since me and my research team are investigating what are the people's knowledge in the UK on seaweed as a food, awareness of health benefits/risks and if there is a growing interest in seaweed consumption. I was allowed by the moderator to post here, only if people in this subreddit found my research interesting, so please upvote me if you do find it interesting or you would like to help me :)
It would contribute a lot towards my research having some local participants from Leicester, since you are a main city in England's East Midlands, and a highly diverse and multicultural city. For my research to be successful, I need a representative sample of all UK, I need different consumer opinions, interests and backgrounds, so please do not hesitate to fill in the survey even if you have never tried seaweed, or you do not like it :) .
Seaweeds are very typical in Japanese diets (e.g. in miso soups and in sushi), and also popular in other Asian countries. However, quite rare in western diets and in UK (there are some exceptions in some Atlantic coastal communities).
This survey could be of particular interest for people interested in health, low carb or plant based foods and sustainability. That said, everyone is more than welcome to fill it in, and I would be so grateful to you for taking the time and helping me with my research! You do not need to know anything about seaweed or even like it, all opinions are welcomed!!
Let me know if you have any questions by pm or in the comments section.
Thanks for reading this far ✨💛
To take part you must be 18+ and live in the UK. The survey takes 20-30 min. And in rewards for taking the time to complete it, you'll enter a ruffle with the chance to win a £50 voucher! I will post the survey link on the comments section.
PS.: Some participants asked me why: "before you start this survey, you will need to create a unique code. This code should consist of the first 3 letters of your mother's maiden name, followed by the day on which you were born ". I wanted to quickly clarify that this code allow us to identify your data, in case you asked us to withdraw it, and it could also help us to do a follow up research in the future.
